OUR programs
Toddlers (Age 1)
We respect each child’s individuality and plan the
day around our little people’s uniqueness. We are mindful
of your child’s first time away from home and offer
caring, nurturing and love in a home like safe and healthy
environment. A daily report is given to inform you of developmental
milestones and of your little one’s progress. Toddlers
learn and grow by discovering and exploring the world around
them. Our toddlers’ program is designed to offer activities
that foster learning, language development, sharing, self-help
skills and socialization in a fun atmosphere.
"Warmth and nurturing is key."
Intermediates
(Age 2 )
For older toddlers, the curriculum also includes color, shapes,
numbers, sign language as well as self-help skills including
potty-training. Parents and teachers work together to achieve
success in this area.

Preschool (Age
3)
Preschool is where socialization and curiosity are fostered
to build self confidence and love for learning. Children are
given choices as they work in learning centers, remembering
that a child's work is play and that "play is the foundation
for learning" Special guests are invited to support our
themes throughout the year. We welcome community helpers like
our firefighters, canine police unit, search and rescue helicopter
unit, veterinarian and nutritionists to name a few.
VPK - FREE Pre-K (Age 4)
VCA participates in the Free Voluntary Pre-K program which
is funded by the State for children who are 4 by the First
of September. We prepare our children for Kindergarten utilizing
the VPK standards. Focus is placed on fine and gross motor
skills, mastership and understanding of key concepts like
"more and less", "beside and between",
as well as all the subject areas. The Early Learning Coalition
web site www.elcbrevard.org
has all the information and resources about the VPK. VCA Parent

Parents as Partners
We believe in Parents as Partners and welcome volunteer
parents on field trips, to share hobbies, or to read to the
children during our Thursday afternoon story hour. We encourage
parents and grandparents to participate in our academy and
classroom activities. We welcome and appreciate birthday moms,
library moms , newsletter moms, classroom moms and any other
such volunteers.
Reading Program
Viera Children's Academy puts reading first. “Reading maketh
the full man.” Our Early Phonics reading program will be sure
to foster a love of reading and a healthy respect for the
power of books. We encourage parent participation in reading
a book a day with their child. VCA implements Creative Curriculum®
which is the country's leading assessment, program planning
and reporting system for children from birth to 5 years of
age. You can learn more about Creative Curriculum® at their
web site www.creativecurriculum.net.
Foreign Language
Children are sponges at an early age. It is proven that children
grasp a foreign language with early exposure and tend to speak
a new language easier than adults. With that in mind, our
children will be introduced to Spanish in the daily curriculum.
Private Spanish lessons along with American Sign Language
is offered. VCA has teachers on staff that fluently speak
Spanish and use American Sign Language in classrooms.
